The Malone University track and field teams completed their first meet of the 2017-18 season on Saturday at the Kent State University Golden Flash Gala.
Tevin Riddle had the best Pioneer performance of the day, coming in second in the Triple Jump. His mark of 48-00.75 broke the Great Midwest Athletic Conference record that was set by Malone's Ja'Vonne Brashears at last year's Indoor Championship Meet. The performance was also an NCAA Division II National Championship provisional qualifying mark and moved Riddle to second all-time on Malone's Top Ten list in the event. Â
Riddle also tied for sixth with fellow Pioneer,
Joshua Woika, in the High Jump. The pair jumped a height of 6-00.75 in the event.
Katie Grimes came in fourth in the 500 Meters. Her time of 1:18.34 is her personal record and is the second fastest time on Malone's top ten list.
Michael Jankowski and
Tyler Harroun performed well in the 3000 Meters. Jankowski came in second in 8:59.33 while Harroun took third in 9:20.31.
Ashley Krieger moved onto Malone's top ten list in the 300 Meters. Her time of 42.89 was ninth in today's event and tenth all-time at Malone.Â
