The Malone University men's soccer team lost 1-0 to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Lake Erie College on Sunday night at Pioneer Field.

With three seconds left in the first half, Lake Erie's Joseph Munaretto headed the ball into the back of the net to put the Storm ahead 1-0.   

Both teams were playing tight defense in the first half as Lake Erie had six shots to Malone's two shots.

Malone and Lake Erie came out in the second half playing physical and aggressive to the ball, as both teams continued to try to get a shot on goal.

The Pioneers had a chance to tie the game up at the 89:30 marker, but senior Sam Tonelli's shot was too high, giving the visitors the 1-0 victory.  

Goal Keeper Jon Crabbs had four saves on the day. He now has 39 saves on the season.

The Pioneers will continue conference play as they travel to face Tiffin University on Friday, October 2nd at 1:30 p.m.
