GameDay Notes: Women's Soccer Set To Welcome Ferris State & Grand Valley To Pioneer Field

Forward Christine Najjar has scored a goal in five of Malone's first six contests this season.

Malone Notes:
-Josh Jones enters his second-year as the Pioneers' head coach.
-The Pioneers are returning 13 players from last year's squad, seven of which started 12 or more games.
-Malone is coming off an outstanding weekend of play. The Pioneers won 4-0 over Lake Erie on Friday and won 1-0 at the University of Findlay on Sunday.  Junior forward Christine Najjar scored twice against Lake Erie and scored the only goal at Findlay. Brianna Smith scored one goal, while Corrin Hayberg contributed one goal and an assist against Lake Erie as well.  
-Christine Najjar is leading the Pioneers thus far with six goals and two assists (14 points) and is currently second in the GLIAC in goals (six) and points (14). She needs just one more goal to tie for 12th on the Malone's all-time career scoring list.   
-Brianna Smith needs four more goals to tie for 12th on the Malone's all-time career scoring list.
-Freshman goalkeeper Leah Rauscher currently has 32 saves on the season. She is currently fourth in the GLIAC in saves (32) and has recorded two shutouts this season. 

Ferris State Notes:
-Andy McCaslin is entering his third season as the Bulldogs' head coach
-Junior Casey Shauman led the 2014 FSU squad with nine goals and six assists (24 points).
-The Bulldogs are returning 16 players from last year's squad, six of which started 14 or more games.
-The leading scorer for the Bulldogs thus far is senior forward Nichole Boehnke who has six goals and one assist (13 points) and is third in the GLIAC in points (13 points).
-FSU was picked to finish sixth in the GLIAC preseason poll.
 
Grand Valley State Notes:
-Jeff Hosler is entering his second year as the Lakers' head coach.
-The Lakers are returning 17 players from last year's squad, six of which started 15 or more games.
-Last season, GVSU won their eighth consecutive GLIAC Tournament Title, beating Ohio Dominican University 2-1.
-The Lakers won the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship, beating NCAA DII #8 Rollins College (FL) by the final score of 3-0. In the last six years, GVSU has won four Division II National Championships. 
-The Lakers leading scorer in 2014 was freshmen Gabriella Mencotti who finished the season with 16 goals and 11 assists (43 points).
-The leading scorer thus far for GVSU is junior Marti Corby who has 11 goals and three assists (25 points) and is currently first in the GLIAC in points (25).
-Grand Valley State was picked to finish first in the GLIAC preseason poll.
