ResultsThe Malone University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams sent numerous athletes to the Hillsdale College (MI) Last Chance Classic on Thursday and numerous personal records were posted.
For the men,
Duke Taylor tallied a first-place finish in the discus throw, among  seven athletes competing, with a toss a 170' 07".
Lepear Smith took the top spot in the 110-meter hurdles and finished with a 14.34 time.
Scott Whitaker placed fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:20.98.
For the women,
Madison Schuler registered a first-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase, among 12 runners, with a time of 10:48.30 to improve upon her personal record in the event (10:49.33). Â Crystal Barber competed in the 100 and 200-meter dash to finish with times of 12.21 and 25.22, respectively. She was just shy of breaking her personal record in the 100-meter dash (12:17).
Lyndsey Bates finished sixth, out of 12 competitors, in the hammer throw with a toss a 169' 09" to come up just short of her personal record of 170' 10" that she set earlier this season.
Erika Rector continued to improve her school-record time in the 800-meter run as she broke her own record of 2:11.82 again to notch a 2:11.72 time and collect the victory.
Emily Fisher collected her fastest time on the season in the 400-meter hurdles with a 1:01.93 time to take the second-place finish.
Hannah Campbell captured the top spot in the 5000-meter run with a 17:31.00 time.
Malone will next send numerous men's and women's athletes to the Allegheny College (PA) Gator Invitational on Friday (May 8).
