GameDay Notes: Posteason Spot On The Line When Women's Soccer hosts Walsh on Senior Day Friday

Contests this week:
Oct. 30: Malone vs Walsh- 12:30 p.m.

Postseason Picture:
If Malone beats Walsh on Friday, the Pioneers clinch the #8 seed in the upcoming GLIAC Postseason Tournament. A tie or a loss to the Cavaliers would clinch the final spot for Walsh.

Senior Day:
Friday is also Senior Day as the team will be honoring the graduating class at halftime.  This year's senior class: Leah Arnold, Ashley Fleming, Karli Kadlecek, Amanda Najjar, and Natalie Rostedt

Supporting A Good Cause:
A portion of all sales of Nom Nom Popcorn at Friday's men's and women's soccer matches will benefit Ashland University women's soccer coach Dan Krispinsky, who was diagnosed with cancer this past summer and has been undergoing treatments during the Eagles' 2015 campaign.  Monetary donations will be collected at the game as well.  Awareness for the Krispinsky family can be raised by using the Twitter hashtag #DanTheMan or by vvisiting the "Dan the Man" Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Dan-the-Man-1529217597369742

Malone Notes:
-Josh Jones enters his second-year as the Pioneers' head coach.
-Malone is coming off a 1-2 record this past week. Malone lost 3-2 at Clarion University on Tuesday, lost 3-2 in double-overtime at Tiffin University on Friday, while beating Ashland University 2-1 on the road on Sunday. Christine Najjar tallied a total of five goals (two at Clarion, two at Tiffin and one at Ashland), while Brianna Smith collected a total of five assists and a goal (two assists at Clarion, two assists at Tiffin and a goal at Ashland). Corrin Hayberg also added an assist at Ashland.     
-Junior's Christine Najjar and Brianna Smith have been the driving force for the Malone offense. Both have combined for a total of 53 out of the Pioneers' 69 points this season.In addition, they have registered career-highs in goal, assists, and points.
-Najjar leads the team with 28 points (12 goals and four assists) and is tied for second in the GLIAC in goals (12) and third in points (28). In addition, Najjar is 8th on Malone's all-time career scoring list with 24 goals and 11th on Malone's most points in a career list with 55.
-Smith is the second leading scorer for the Pioneers with 10 goals and five assists (25 points). She is seventh in the GLIAC in goals (10) and is sixth in points (25). In addition, Smith is tied for 10th on Malone's all-time career scoring list with 21 goals.
-Freshmen goalkeeper Leah Rauscher has tallied 109 saves on the season. She is currently third in the GLIAC in saves (109) and has recorded two shutouts this season. 

Walsh Notes:
-Dave Renard is entering his fifth season as the Cavilers head coach.
-The Cavilers are returning 18 players from last year's squad, nine of which started 16 or more games.
-Junior Kristen Conti was the leading scorer for Walsh last season with 11 goals and two assists (24 points).
-Last season, Walsh made it to the GLIAC Tournament, but lost 5-0 in the Quarterfinals at Michigan Tech University.
-The Cavaliers leading scorer is Jessie Gearhart with 11 goals and three assists (25 points). She is fourth in the GLIAC in goals (11) and fifth in points (25).
-Goalkeeper Michaella Stucky is fourth in the GLIAC in total saves (99) and has a 1.25 goals against average.
