Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Matt Akindipe scores his third goal on the season Sunday afternoon.

Men’s Soccer Falls to Ohio Dominican Sunday Afternoon

The Malone University men's soccer team lost on the road to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Ohio Dominican University, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon in Columbus.

The Panthers wasted no time as they scored within three minutes of the first half. Within the next 13 minutes, they would go on to score again to seal an early 2-0 lead.

The Pioneers wouldn't go down without a battle, as senior Matt Akindipe beat out the goalie to make the shot in the left corner of the net that was dished to him from fellow senior, Ryan Brumbaugh, in the 30th minute of the first half. Akindipe now has three goals on the season.

The score would remain 2-1 going into the half.

It remained tightknit in the second half until Tanner Ebright from the Panthers would beat the goalie to make a shot in the left corner in the 63rd minute to advance the lead, 3-1.

Goalie Jon Crabbs added six saves on the afternoon.

The Pioneers, now 1-5-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the GLIAC, will continue its conference play when they host the University of Findlay on Friday October 3rd at 4:00 p.m.
