Match Results

The Malone University women's tennis team concluded its season-opening three-match homestand on Sunday as the Pioneers hosted defending 2012 GLIAC Tournament Champion Northwood University (MI).  The Pioneeers lost by the score of 9-0 and fell to 0-3 on the young season while the Timberwolves improved to 3-0.

In singles action, #1 Asia Harris nearly pulled off a big upset against Northwood's top player in a three-set affair.  After losing 7-5 in the first set, Harris battled back to take the second set 6-4. Her opponent took the match, though, by winning the third set in a 1-0 super tiebreaker.

Harris and teammate Kaley Kahoun also played very well in a tough 8-4 setback at # 1 doubles.

Malone will next compete in a non-conference contest on Tuesday when the squad travels to Otterbein University (1-0) for a 4:00 p.m. match.
