Match Results

The Malone University women's tennis team collected its first win of the fall campaign as the squad posted a 5-3 non-conference victory on the road against The College of Wooster on Wednesday evening.  With the win, the Pioneers improved to 1-7 overall and remained at 0-6 in GLIAC play while the Fighting Scots fell to 0-1 in their first dual match of the fall season.

Four Pioneer singles players -- Asia Harris (#1), Janelle Linder (#3), Ana Hernandez (#4) and Christine Miller (#5) -- tallied victories with Harris' 6-4, 6-1 decision providing the fewest number of games lost (5) in a singles match for the squad.

Linder and Miller notched an 8-5 win at #2 doubles in the Pioneer team victory.  In addition, the number #6 singles match (Chrissy Cameron competing) went unfinished due to darkness although the outcome of the overall match had already been decided.

Malone will continue its season by next competing in a GLIAC match at Walsh University next Monday (Sept. 23) at 3:00 p.m.
