Women's Tennis Edges Lebanon Valley 5-4, Blanks St. John Fisher 9-0

Against St. John Fisher on Thursday, junior Janelle Linder won 6-2, 6-3 at #4 singles and 8-0 (teamed with Alexis Hill) at #3 doubles.

The Malone University women's tennis team concluded its four days of competition at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina on Thursday by pocketing a pair of victories -- over Lebanon Valley College (PA) 5-4 in the morning and over St. John Fisher (NY) College 9-0 in an afternoon match. With the 2-0 day, the Pioneers are now 13-14 overall for the 2012-13 year.

Against Lebanon Valley, Asia Harris (#1), Erika Lester ((#2), Kim Knisley (#3) and Kaley Kahoun (#6) all secured singles match victories (all in straight sets) for the Pioneers.  In doubles play, Knisley teamed with Emily Kahoun for a #2 doubles win.

In the St. John Fisher match, all six singles players won in straight sets including Janelle Linder at #4.  Linder and Alexis Hill won at #3 doubles 8-0.

Malone will close out its regular-season with two matches on April 17th, both at Ursuline College. The Pioneers will face Alderson-Broaddus (WV) at 9:00 a.m. and then Ursuline at 11:30 a.m.
