Pioneers Blank Eastern 9-0 For Second Straight Win At Hilton Head

Freshman Erika Lester did not lose a single game against her Eastern opponents, in both her #2 singles win and her #3 doubles triumph (teaming with Alexis Hill), as Malone won the overall match 9-0.

The Malone University women's tennis team collected its second straight victory on Monday during its spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina as the Pioneers tallied a 9-0 win over Eastern University (PA). With the win, Malone improved to 9-13 on the 2012-13 season while Eastern fell to 0-3 overall.

Malone did not lose a single set during the match and, of the Malone student athletes who played both singles and doubles in the match, Erika Lester did not drop even a single game as she won 6-0, 6-0 at #2 singles and 8-0 at #3 doubles (teamed with Alexis Hill).

Asia Harris (#1), Kim Knisley (#3), Janelle Linder (#4), Emily Kahoun (#5) and Hill (#6) all posted singles victories while Knisley and E. Kahoun notched a #1 doubles win as did Harris and Marie Konstan at #2 doubles.

Malone will next compete against Trine (IN) on Tuesday in a 9:30 a.m. match.
