Match Results

Having won its previous match last Saturday, the Malone University women's tennis team was not able to put together a second straight win on Friday as the Pioneers lost on the road to Ashland University by the score of 9-0.  With the loss, Malone fell to 2-9 overall on the season and to 1-8 in GLIAC play while Ashland, with the win, improved to 5-4 overall and to 5-4 in the GLIAC.

Asia Harris, playing at #1 singles, was the lone Pioneer player to capture a set as she took the second set in her three-set loss.  After losing the first set 6-2, Harris responded to win set number two by the same 6-2 score.  In the third-set supertiebreak, though, Harris lost 1-0 after losing 10-5 in points for that game.

Malone will next compete tomorrow (Saturday) in another GLIAC road match when the squad travels to Ohio Dominican University for a 10:00 a.m. match.
