Women's Tennis Drops First GLIAC Match At Saginaw Valley State 8-1

Junior Kaley Kahoun lost a hard fought 6-3, 6-3 decision at #4 singles in Malone's 8-1 loss at Saginaw Valley State Saturday. Freshman Asia Harris (action photo not available) posted the lone Pioneer win on the day at #2 singles in a 6-3, 7-6 victory.


Competing in its first-ever GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) match, the Malone University women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision at Saginaw Valley State University (MI) on Saturday. With the loss, the Pioneers fell to 1-1 overall and to 0-1 in the GLIAC while SVSU improved to 2-0 overall and to 2-0 in GLIAC play.

Freshman Asia Harris posted the only victory for Malone on the day with a 6-3, 7-6 triumph at #2 singles.

Malone will compete in its second of three GLIAC matches over three straight days as the team competes at Lake Superior State University (MI) on Sunday in a 10:00 a.m. contest.
