Women's Soccer Falls to Notre Dame College 3-0

Box Score
The Malone University women's soccer (1-5-1, 1-3-1 GLIAC) team couldn't find the back of the net, falling to Notre Dame College 3-0 despite outshooting the Falcons 13-12.

Notre Dame's Claire Kelly opened the scoring just 4 minutes into the match. Pioneer goalkeeper Angie Nutial appeared to have made a remarkable diving save on the play but the ball spun off her hands, off the post and barely over the goal line.

Malone's best chance of the game came off the foot of senior midfielder Amanda Hanlon, who rifled a shot from 25 yards out off the crossbar in the first half/

Notre Dame's Lauren Acker scored twice in the second half, the first off a corner and the second off a long shot that skipped over Nutial, to ice the game for the Falcons (3-5, 2-3 GLIAC).

Senior Cassy Daniels led the Malone charge with four of her team's 13 shots. Malone's next match will be a huge challenge as they take on the #1 ranked team in Division II, Grand Valley State, on Friday, Sept. 28th at 4:00 pm.
