Pioneers Post Big 9-0 Win At Wooster

Junior Kaley Kahoun earned a convincing 6-0, 6-1 win at #4 singles against her opponent in Malone's 9-0 victory at The College of Wooster Wednesday.


The Malone University women's tennis team got back on the winning track Wednesday as the squad rolled past The College of Wooster in an away match by the score of 9-0.  With the non-conference win, the Pioneers improved to 2-7 overall (0-6 GLIAC) while the Fighting Scots dropped to 0-1.

With the exception of one match, all Pioneer wins came in straight sets with Erika Lester, at #2 singles, posting a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win.  Two other Pioneer singles players and one doubles unit gave up only one game apiece in their victories.

Malone will try to make it two wins in a row when the squad hosts Thiel College (PA) in a 4:30 p.m. match on Friday (a make-up match of a postponement from Sept. 4th).
