The Malone University women's tennis team lost an Ohio Independent Championships tournament first-round contest to Cedarville University  on Thursday as the third-seeded Pioneers lost to the top-seeded Yellow Jackets by the score of 7-2, among a five-team field at the event.  With the loss, Malone closed out its 2011-12 season with an overall record of 7-13 while Cedarville improved to 13-11 on the year.

Julianna Blaisdell, playing at #6 singles, captured the team's only singles win with a 6-3, 7-6 victory over her opponent.  In addition, she teamed with Kaley Kahoun at #3 doubles to earn an 8-3 win.
