The Malone University men's golf team kept its undefeated streak alive for the spring season as the Pioneers won yet another tournament -- this one being the Nye Intercollegiate, hosted by the College of Wooster, at the Wooster Country Club on Tuesday.
Among a six-team field, Malone tallied a score of 303 for its fifth straight A-team victory. Wooster was second at 309, Baldwin-Wallace College took third at 323, John Carroll University placed fourth at 324, Muskingum came in fifth at 341 and Hiram College rounded out the field in sixth at 346.

In the ensuing playoff that ended up lasting four holes, Tarter was the first player eliminated and finished fourth while Clark was the third golfer eliminated and secured the runner-up spot. John Carroll's Alex DiPalma won the playoff and earned overall medalist honors.
Among 35 golfers competing (which included the six teams and five other players competing as individuals),
Tyler Light carded a 76 to finish in a tie for fifth,
Ryan Headley posted a 77 to earn a tie for seventh, and
Jay Hollifield grabbed a tie for ninth with a round of 78.
After taking the next few weeks off, Malone will close out its 2012 spring season by competing at the Ohio Independent Championship at the Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio May 7-8.
