Women's Tennis Posts 5-4 Victory Over Trine (IN) At Hilton Head; Team Now At 4-5 On Year

Sophomore Kaley Kahoun earned an impressive come-from-behind win at #3 singles as she outlasted her Trine (IN) opponent in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0. Malone won Thursday's match 5-4.


The Malone University women's tennis team racked up its fourth victory of the season in a close 5-4 decision over Trine (IN) University in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina Thursday. With the win, the Pioneers are now 4-5 for the 2011-12 season while Trine fell to 2-3 on the year.

In singles, Malone earned wins from Alanna Phillips at #2, Kaley Kahoun at #3, Marie Konstan at #5, and Julianna Blaisdell at #6.  Kahoun's victory came in dramatic fashion as she dropped the first set 6-3 but bounced back to take the second set 6-1 and the third set at 1-0.  In addition, Phillips and Kim Knisley notched a win at #1 doubles.
