Although the final score between the host Malone University women's tennis team and visiting Tiffin University was 7-2 in favor of the Dragons on Sunday, sometimes a score can be misleading and this was one of those times.
A majority of the matches went right down to the wire with Malone suffering three losses by just two games or less. Indeed a few points here or there were all that stood between a very possible 5-4 win for the hosts. Yet the Dragons did what they needed to do to take back the win to Tiffin, Ohio. With the loss, Malone fell to 6-11 overall and 1-10 in the GLIAC while Tiffin improved to 7-5 (6-5 GLIAC).
Malone earned its two victories on the day from
Erika Lester, who notched a three-set 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 win at #2 singles, and from
Marie Konstan, who tallied a straight set 7-5, 6-1 win at #6 singles.
