After losing two of its three doubles match in Saturday's home match against the University of Findlay, the Malone University women's tennis team rallied to post wins in four of the six singles matches to capture a 5-4 victory over the visiting Oilers.
With the win, the Pioneers improved to 7-12 overall and picked up their second GLIAC victory of the season (2-11) while Findlay dropped to 2-11 and 1-11 in the GLIAC.
In a tight match throughout the late afternoon and evening, the two teams battled toe to toe with two matches coming down to the final game -- Findlay's 9-8 win at #2 doubles and a marathon #4 singles win by Malone's
Kaley Kahoun at 6-1, 3-6, 7-6. But in the end, it was Malone that earned the fifth and deciding match win to take the overall 5-4 decision.
Asia Harris picked up her team-best 11th singles win of the season after posting a 6-3, 6-2 decision at #1 singles.
