The Malone University women's tennis team lost to NCAA Div. II Ashland University 9-0 in a home match on Friday afternoon. Against the perennial NCAA Div. II playoff participants, Pioneer freshman
Janelle Linder was the lone Malone athlete to win a set against the visiting Eagles. Although Linder lost the first set 6-3, she rebounded to post a 6-4 win in the second set before dropping the third set 10-6 in a super tiebreaker.
With the loss, Malone dropped to 1-8 overall on the season (and remained at 0-1 in the AMC) while Ashland improved to 19-6 on the year (and remained at 7-4 in the GLIAC).
