Women's Tennis Loses Opening AMC Match At Cedarville By Score Of 7-2

Senior Madison DeWeerd, at #6 singles, posted the only singles victory for the Pioneers as Malone lost to Cedarville University 7-2 on Saturday. DeWeerd collected a 6-4, 2-6, (10-7) win.

The Malone University women's tennis team, in its 2011 American Mideast Conference opener, lost at Cedarville University by the score of 7-2 on Saturday. Madison DeWeerd, at #6 singles, pocketed the only singles victory for the Pioneers on the day in a 6-4, 2-6, (10-7) decision. In addition, Julianna Blaisdell and Stephanie Prasnal teamed at #3 doubles to post a thrilling 9-8 (7-5) victory. With the loss, Malone's record now stands at 1-7 (0-1 AMC) on the season while Cedarville improved to 9-5 (3-0 AMC) on the year.
