Women's Tennis Defeats Carlow (PA) 9-0 For First Conference Win

Senior Lauren Armbrust, playing at #4 singles, was one of three PIoneers to post a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory in Malone's 9-0 win over Carlow (PA) University on Tuesday.


The Malone University women's tennis team earned its second win of the 2011 season, and its first AMC victory of the campaign, on Tuesday by defeating Carlow (PA) University 9-0. After Tuesday's win, Malone improved to 2-9 on the year (1-2 AMC) while Carlow fell to 0-6 (0-5 AMC).

The Pioneers' only lost eight games on the day during the course of their nine matches. Alanna PhillipsLauren Armbrust and Madison DeWeerd did not lose a game in their contests, posting singles victories of 6-0, 6-0 over their opponents. All of the Malone doubles teams earned 8-1 victories in their matches.
