Final Results
In a one-day event, shortened from two days due to Monday's weather, the Malone University men's golf team finished in a tie for eighth place among a 14-team field at the John Telich Sr. Cleveland State University Invitational on Tuesday.
At the Canterbury Golf Club in Beachwood, Ohio, Malone tallied a score of 300 as Indian Univ.-Purdue Univ. (Fort Wayne) captured the tournament with a first-place score of 289. Host Cleveland State placed second at 294, Austin Peay State University (TN) finished third at 295 while Oakland (MI) University and North Dakota State University tied for fourth at 298.
Jay Hollifield paced the Pioneers with a round of 74 while
Tyler Light and
Garrison Myles were right behind with rounds of 75.
Richie Schembechler fired a 76 and
Ryan Headley carded a 79.
Malone will next compete at the Phipps Memorial at Congress Lake Country Club on Wed., October 12th at 10:00 a.m.
