The Malone University women's soccer team used three second-half goals to pull away for a 4-0 non-conference victory at home on Saturday afternoon against NCAA Division III Saint Vincent (PA) College. The Pioneers dominated the match, recording a 29-2 advantage in total shots on goal. Malone improved to 2-0 on the year with the shutout victory while the Bearcats fell to 0-2.

Midfielder Cassy Daniels put the Pioneers in front 1-0 in the 25th minute after deflecting in a corner kick by midfielder Alyssa Foldesy. Despite Malone's 28 first-half shot attempts, the score then remained unchanged until the 61st minute when forward Jasmine Evans received a pass from midfielder Katie Heckman and blasted a deep shot that found its way into the top of the net over the goalkeeper's outstretched arm. The Pioneers then struck again just three minutes later as midfielder Chelsea Howell headed in a Heckman cross. Midfielder Susanna Jonkka then wrapped up the scoring in the 74th minute, drilling a shot from outside the box that deflected off the keeper's hands and into the net.

Bearcat keeper Kirstie Mils made 25 saves on the afternoon while Malone keeper Angie Nutial stopped the only two shots she faced to record her first shutout of the season.

The Pioneers will be back in action on Wednesday as the squad hosts a 4:30 p.m. match against Davenport (MI) University.
