2018: Clayton was outstanding in his first season with the Pioneers, starting all 10 games and leading a Malone offense that scored over 30 points per game for the first time since 2009…Completed 169-of-295 pass attempts (57.3%) for 2,326 yards, 16 touchdowns and just six interceptions…Carried 139 times for a team-high 465 yards and set the single-season school record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with nine…Rushed 19 times for 74 yards and set the Malone single-game record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with three against Hillsdale (9/29/18)…Accounted for four touchdowns (2 rushing, 2 passing) and 404 yards of total offense at Millersville (10/20/18), throwing for 260 yards and setting the Pioneer quarterback single-game rushing record with 144 yards in the win…One week later, he set the single-game record for passing yards (483), total offense (491) and touchdown passes in one half (5) against Alderson Broaddus (10/27/18)…Altogether, accounted for 2,791 yards of total offense (third-most in the G-MAC and 21st in Division II) and 23 total touchdowns…Named G-MAC Honorable Mention All-Conference

Prior to Malone: Transferred to Malone after two seasons at Division II Clarion University. Clayton was named All-Region at South County High School in Virginia and participated in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl.
