ALLIANCE, Ohio - On Sunday afternoon, the Malone University women's golf team opened the 2026-27 season with a B-team tournament, the Mount Union Fall Invitational. The Pioneers placed fourth out of eight teams at Tannenhauf Golf Club. The host Purple Raiders were victorious with a team score of 332, while Malone was close behind at 341.
Annie Johnston led the Pioneers in her first collegiate round. She tied for second overall and had two birdies on the front nine en route to a 79.
Claire Hostetler was also inside the top-ten after he scored an 84 (tied for seventh). The junior had a birdie on the par-5 10th hole.

Ella Ridgway and
Mary Helber were the other participants for Malone. Ridgway scored an 88 and Helber a 90 in their first tournaments with the program. They had one birdie apiece.

The season continues for the Pioneers on Wednesday, September 9 with the start of a two-day event at the University of Charleston and Edgewood Country Club.
