PALM COAST, Fla. - Freshman Caylee Lattimer of the Malone University women's golf team began her quest of an individual NCCAA National Championship title on Monday at the Hammock Beach Resort - Conservatory Course.

Lattimer shot an 88 in round one and she is in 24th-place. She began her round on the back nine and had three consecutive pars to begin the morning. Lattimer regained her composure after a struggle in the middle stages on the back nine for a 45 on the final nine holes of the course. She had nothing more than a bogey on the first eight holes of the front, but a triple bogey on hole nine brought her total to 88 on Monday.

Head Coach Bill Eddins had this to say on his freshman's performance on a national stage, "With the exception of two holes, Caylee played really well. She had a few bad breaks, but did a great job of maintaining her poise on a championship course in extremely windy conditions. We are proud of her and excited for round two!"

Tuesday marks day two of the three-day event in the Sunshine State. The first tee times begin at 8:30 A.M. with Lattimer going off at 8:38 A.M.
