Rachel Whetstone is now an NCCAA Athlete of the Week award recipient.

The senior distance runner from Akron, Ohio and Mogadore High School led the Pioneers at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Preview Meet, hosted by Tiffin University. Whetstone placed tenth overall with a 6K time of 23:49.2. Malone as a whole finished the event in fourth-place and improved upon their times within the NCCAA standings. After the race, Whetstone now holds the team's best 5K conversion time at 19:37.

The Malone cross country programs compete at the Royals Cross Country Challenge for their next event on Friday, October 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
