WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Malone University women's golf team improved in their second round at Grace College's Battle of Stonehenge on Tuesday. The Pioneers placed seventh as a team with a score of 649 (326-323) and Bethel University maintained their lead to claim the team title at 607 (301-306).
 
Several team members set new collegiate lows, led by Caylee Lattimer with a 76 in the second round to finish at 157 (81-76). She picked up ten spots to tie for 20th overall with the help of four birdies on day two of the event. Individual scorer Kaylyn Henson was just behind Lattimer at 163 (79-84). Claire Hostetler at 164 (80-84) and Annie Johnston at 165 (80-85) were next on the leaderboard.
 
Jorja Ary (89-78) and Brielle Starnes (90-77) tied at 167 for the tournament and made major improvements the second time around the course. Ary bookended the front nine with birdies on holes one and nine en route to a career-low round of golf. Starnes was the biggest mover for Malone after she gained 16 spots on the leaderboard with two birdies as an individual. She set a new career-best as well. Addison Burris finished the event at 170 (85-85) and nearly aced the par-3 13th hole.
 
The Pioneers leave the state of Ohio once again beginning on Saturday, 26 at Grand Valley State University's 18th Annual Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite.
