WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Malone University women's golf team took part in the Battle at Stonehenge on Monday afternoon and at the halfway point, are seventh among a field of 15. The Pioneers recorded a team score of 326. The Bethel University Pilots currently sit atop the leaderboard with a 301, but hold just a one-stroke advantage over Taylor University.
 
Claire Hostetler leads the way for Malone with an 80 in round one of two. She had two birdies and is tied for 26th overall with Annie Johnston. Johnston recorded a strong first round of 80. She birdied holes 8 and 12, both par-4 holes. One of the Pioneer individual scorers, Kaylyn Henson, led the Pioneers in scoring overall with a 79. Henson had just one birdie, but was a steady presence with 12 pars.
 
Caylee Lattimer had a strong front nine to be just one back of her teammates at 81. Lattimer had a birdie on the par-3 third hole. Addison Burris fired an 85. Jorja Ary had one birdie as well and scored an 89. Brielle Starnes was the final individual competitor for the Pioneers with a day one 90.
