CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University women's golf red team was close to home on Thursday at the Cavalier Fall Invitational, hosted by Walsh University and Glenmoor Country Club. The Pioneers placed fifth out of seven teams with a score of 377. The Ursuline College Arrows pulled away for the team championship at 326.
 
Kaylyn Henson went under par twice in her round and tapped in for birdie on the par-3 17th hole. She also had a birdie on the first hole of the course and finished eighth overall at 87. Claire Hostetler overcame a slow start and rebounded with one birdie en route to a 95. Other scorers for Malone included Mary Helber at 96 and Ella Ridgway at 99.
 
The Pioneers return to the course on Monday, September 21 for the Battle at Stonehedge, a tournament held by Grace College. Tee time is set for 1:00 P.M.
