Pioneers in Seventh Place After Day One of the Heidelberg Fall Invitational

FOSTORIA, Ohio - The Malone University women's golf team finished 7th of 13 teams on day one of the Heidelberg Fall Invitational at Fostoria Country Club. This was a B-team tournament for the Pioneers. Malone played 18 holes and posted a total score of 341 on the first day of competition. The Ohio Northern Polar Bears are in first place with a total score of 313.

 

Claire Hostetler shot a career collegiate-low 76 to lead the Pioneers in round one. Annie Johnston notched an 80 in 18 holes for Malone. Hostetler added four birdies on holes 1,4,8, and 16 for the Pioneers. Individually, Hostetler is tied for 4th place and Johnston is in 16th. 

 

Mary Helber shot an 85 on day one of competition for Malone. She had birdies on the 9th and 14th holes. Ella Ridgway shot a 100 for the Pioneers. Ridgway added a birdie on the 17th hole. 

The Pioneers return to Fostoria Country Club for the final day of the Heidelberg Fall Invitational. Malone will tee off on Saturday, September 12th for 18 holes on the final day of competition.
