CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University athletics department has announced the hiring of Tricia Cash as the new cheerleading coach for the Pioneers.
 
"Tricia truly captures the essence of our Christ-centered, student-driven mission," Director of Athletics Tanya Hockman stated. "With decades of coaching experience, she is uniquely equipped to connect with our student-athletes and their families. Introducing cheerleading to our sports portfolio is a strategic expansion of our club offerings, and we look forward to watching the program thrive under Tricia's leadership."
 
Cash brings a wealth of knowledge to Malone with several years of experience in cheerleading. She has been the head cheerleading coach at Garaway High School for football, basketball and competition cheer since 2022. She also had a brief stint at Kent State University at Tuscarawas as the Head Cheerleading, Dance and Tumbling Coach from 2018-19 as well as the varsity, junior varsity and freshmen cheerleading and tumbling coach at New Philadelphia High School from 2013-18. Cash was a long-time teacher at Studio 3 for Tumbling, Cheerleading, Hip Hop, & Jazz from 2003-11.

Cash is a graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School and The Ohio State University. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Communications, with a heavy course study on Public Relations, Marketing, English, Natural Resources, Geological Sciences and Spanish.
