Track & Field Wraps Up Successful G-MAC Championships

05/01/26

HILLSDALE, Mich. - The Malone University track & field team concluded the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Outdoor Championships well with eighth-place finishes credited to both the men's and women's squads. Tiffin University claimed the men's title and Hillsdale College secured the women's championship, both in very close fashion with Ashland University in second in each set of standings.

Allea Graves secured a conference championship for the Pioneers in the 400-meter dash finals. Her time of 54.97 seconds is a new personal record, beats her previous school record time, and is an NCAA provisional mark. The other top-three finish for Malone came from Xander Heil in the 1500-meter run. He was runner-up with a time of 3:51.99, a mark that narrowly missed the program top-ten list.

Phil Stupka rattled off a pair of fifth-place finishes. He ran a time of 10.61 seconds in the 100-meter dash finals and 21.59 seconds in the 200-meter dash finals. Brylan Holland was fifth as well in the 800-meter run (1:52.54) and Tyler Twining was seventh (1:53.63) to score points in the event for Malone. Holland's time is now fourth in program history. Hayden Schmidt netted team points as well in the 5000-meter run. His time of 14:48.27 was good enough for seventh.

Three different relay teams came away with points for the Pioneers. The 4x100-meter relay squad of Amber Morris, Abigail Blaz, SaRae Johnson and Graves was fifth with a time of 48.57 seconds. Malone's men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams were inside the top-eight. The women's team of Johnson, Brooklyn McIntyre, Rebekah Stoneman and Graves finished sixth (3:57.62) while Twining, Holland, Eric Dehmer and Bryant Thompson were eighth overall (3:23.04).

Megan Reifsnyder was able to enter the program's top-ten list in the triple jump. She placed 13th in the event, but her score of 10.26 meters (33' 8.00") is good for ninth all-time.

The season is not over yet for the Pioneers as they compete in the NCCAA Outdoor Championships on May 6-8.
