GREENVILLE, S.C. - For the first time in the 2026 outdoor season, Malone University track & field's Gavin Tribelo has been chosen as the NCCAA Athlete of the Week for men's field events, presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
The junior from Salineville, Ohio competed in three events at the Mount Union Classic. He was second in the shot put at 15.56 meters (51' 0.75"), along with two tenth-place marks in the discus at 42.48 meters (139' 4.00") and the hammer throw at 43.57 meters (142' 11.00"). Tribelo's best throw in the discus is a new personal record.
 
Looking ahead in the schedule for the Pioneers, they will next compete on Wednesday, April 29 for the start of the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hillsdale College.
