GAME ONE RECAP:
Walsh jumped out to a 5-0 lead in game one before
Shane Coblentz scored
Robert Gumino after he double in the third with an RBI on a groundout. A bases loaded two-run single off the bat of
Doran Mast helped get Malone closer at 5-3 at the end of the sixth inning.
Â
After a shaky start,
Jackson Phelps tossed five straight zeros in innings three through seven. He received the loss (3-1) and struck out five and allowed five hits and four earned runs.
Aydan Manning and
Gage Faraguna entered from the bullpen but combined for five earned runs in the final two frames in the loss. In the bottom of the ninth,
Colin Coblentz blasted a solo homerun, but it was not enough in the 10-5 final.
Â
Mast led the way with three RBIs. Both he and
Colin Coblentz were 3-for-4 at the dish. Gumino and
Vincent Alvarez had extra-base hits for the team.

GAME TWO RECAP:
Game two began similarly to the first with the Cavaliers ahead 5-0.
Charlie Roberts beat out an infield hit to drive in the first run of the game for the Pioneers in the second inning. Walsh extended their lead to 7-1 with a pair of sacrifice flies, but once again Malone was able to cut the gap.
Â
Zach Root sent a triple to the outfield wall in the fifth to spark a three-run inning. Root's hit scored
Shane Coblentz, then
Reilly Tyna followed with a sacrifice fly and one additional run scored on an error. 7-4 would be as close as the team would get as Walsh matched the scoring with a three-spot in the top of the seventh to win 10-4.
Â
Shane Coblentz (4-3) pitched the first five innings and struck out four batters. Alvarez was the lone man with multiple hits at 2-for-4 in the second of a back-to-back.
