GREENVILLE, S.C. - In the NCCAA Coaches Polls, the Malone University baseball and softball programs are both nationally-ranked. The Malone University baseball team has remained consistent in the #10 spot and the Malone University softball team is up two spots to #7 in the nation.

Pioneer baseball is coming off a 2-2 weekend at Northwood University. Malone is 16-11 overall and 5-7 in their opening games in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). The Pioneers are fifth in the NCCAA in team batting average at .318 and
Shane Coblentz leads that group with a .395 average himself. Coblentz leads the team with 12 doubles and 28 RBIs.

Doran Mast (.368),
Robert Gumino (.360) and
Colin Coblentz (.351) are also top hitters for the program.

Malone and Walsh University will compete in a doubleheader at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium on Thursday, April 2 for their next contests. That series continues after the Easter holiday on Tuesday, April 7. First pitch times are 10:00 A.M. both days.

In softball, the Pioneers have won eight consecutive games and are 18-6 overall (5-1 G-MAC). Malone is a perfect 8-0 at home at their new facility, the Mason Softball Complex.
Summer McCaw and
Mia Rose are among the top pitchers in the NCCAA, both ranked inside the top seven in ERA at 1.58 and 1.99.
Sidney Conti is the lone hitter above .400 (.404) and four other student-athletes are above .300 in
Amber Miller (.360),
Morgan Cantrell (.348),
Marlee Pireu (.343) and
Jessie Crookston (.321).
