FINDLAY, Ohio - The three-game win streak for the Malone University women's lacrosse team came to an end in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opener on Thursday against the University of Findlay, 11-5.

The Pioneers (6-2, 0-1 G-MAC) were shutout in the first quarter but trailed just 2-0 to the Oilers (3-4, 1-0 G-MAC) after 15 minutes.
Alana Samek was unassisted on the first Malone goal of the game just a few minutes into the second. That would be the only tally of the first half as Findlay jumped out to a 5-1 lead.

The deficit grew to as many as five before
Meg Ridgway hit
Cam English for a goal 12 minutes into the third.
Ashtyn Praeter made it back-to-back scores for the Pioneers off a feed from Samek.
Jorjia Meza assisted on a goal by
Abbey Burns and scored herself in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough in the 11-5 loss.

Malone was outshot 29-12 and turned the ball over 29 times compared to 20 for Findlay. Defensively,
Regan Blythe recorded three caused turnovers and
Emma Weintz scooped up a team-high six ground balls.
Sydney Atkinson (6-2) made nine saves and played all 60 minutes in goal.
