WBCA Poll 1-6-26

Pioneers Ranked #25

01/06/26

LILBURN, Ga. - The Malone University women's basketball team currently holds the final spot in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division II Coaches Poll. The Pioneers were ranked 19th one week ago and fell six spots to #25.

Last week, Malone was 1-1 with a 108-33 thumping of Bryant & Stratton College on December 30, but a 61-54 loss against Hillsdale College. The defeat was the first in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play. Against the Bobcats, the team broke the program record for most steals in a game with 24. Senior Nataley Armstrong had four steals and five assists in just 11 minutes played. Senior Erin Kaufman recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds versus the Chargers.

Overall this season, the Pioneers are 11-3 and 4-2 in conference play following a Monday night loss at Northwood University, 73-54. Despite losses in three of their last four games, there is still time this season to climb back to the top of the conference standings. Malone is currently fifth with two losses, but many teams have played fewer league games, such as Hillsdale and Thomas More University at four each.

For their next game, the Pioneers return home to Osborne Hall where they are an undefeated 6-0 this year. Malone takes on the University of Findlay Oilers beginning at 1:00 P.M.
