CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University swimming & diving programs celebrated their seniors prior to the start of their dual meet versus Fairmont State University on Saturday. It was
Brady Porter and
Kassidy Cannon who were honored as upcoming graduates of Malone.

The teams were able to send the seniors off with wins in both the men's (116-96) and women's (129-95) standings. Both squads are now 2-4 in dual meets this season. The Pioneer women were also slated to face Hillsdale College, but transportation issues forced that portion of the meet to be canceled.

Malone took home first-place in 14 different events, four of those in competition with the Falcons. Six of those were from the men and eight on the women's side.

Elisha Thompkins recorded an event win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.28 seconds. Porter swam a race-winning time of 1:57.97 in the 200-yard freestyle, while
Landon Sutter won both the 100-yard backstroke (57.65 seconds) and 200-yard backstroke (2:14.79) and
Carson Letchworth was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.88) and 200-yard individual medley (2:18.06). All five of those wins were uncontested by Fairmont State.

On the women's side,
Ashtyn Rickel recorded three event wins. Those included the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.91), 200-yard backstroke (2:18.47) and 200-yard individual medley (2:19.60), the first of which heavily contested by the Falcons.
Ann-Katherine Burns won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.40) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:41.08), the first of which a tight battle.
Elizabeth Lane secured an individual title in the 50-yard freestyle at 25.51 seconds.

Allea Graves was the lone diver in the meet, but moved up to number two in the program's history in the 1-meter dive. Her new personal best score is 206.25. She also had a score of 180.40 in the 3-meter dive.

The Pioneers will be at home for the remainder of their schedule, starting with a duel meet versus Chatham University on Friday, January 30 at 12:00 P.M.
