KENT, Ohio - On Friday, the Malone University track & field program competed at the Jud Logan Memorial, hosted by Kent State University. The Pioneers had several new entries into the top-ten lists on both the men's and women's teams.

Allea Graves set three new personal bests and improved on three different leaderboards. She ran a 7.88-second time in the 60-meter dash prelims to improve upon her fourth-best time in school history, secured a 25.66-second mark in the 200-meter dash, good for third in the program, and a 58.15-second finish in the 400-meter dash, which is second all-time. Graves was seventh, tenth and third in said events.
Amber Morris also tied for the tenth-best time in program history in the 60-meter dash at 8.15 seconds.

Another top-ten mark was set by
Kristin Yeager for the Malone women. She placed fourth in the mile run with a time of 5:06.72. That secures sixth-place in the history of the program. The team of
Abigail Blaz,
Brooklyn McIntyre,
SaRae Johnson and Graves did not set a new best time in team history, but did finish fifth with an impressive time of 4:19.92.

On the men's side,
Phil Stupka and
Bryant Thompson made their mark in the 200-meter dash. Stupka is now second in program history at 21.99 seconds and Thompson sixth at 22.38 seconds. Those placements were also their finishes in the race. Stupka was also the top man in the 60-meter dash in fourth with a time of 6.90 seconds in the event finals and he was a part of the 4x400-meter relay team with Thomson,
Sabastian Lacatus and
Otani Ekpe in fourth at 3:29.67. Ekpe was fifth in the 400-meter dash (51.17 seconds) and sixth in the 60-meter hurdle events (8.49/9.40 seconds).

In the mile run,
Xander Heil (second) and
Hayden Schmidt (fourth) were top five finishers for the Pioneers. Heil completed the race in 4:16.88 and Schmidt just behind at 4:17.79.
Kellen Reichert was also inside the top-five in the 3000-meter run at 8:58.60.

The next event for the track & field program will be on Saturday, January 31 for the Steemer Showcase at Wittenberg University.
