PAINESVILLE, Ohio - The Malone University Men's Soccer team went on the road on Thursday night to play a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) match with the Lake Erie College Storm. The Pioneers lost their third road game of the season 4-0 to drop to 0-3-0 in conference action and 0-6-0 overall. The Storm improved to 3-0-4 overall and remain undefeated in G-MAC competition at 3-0-0.

The Pioneers attacked first in the opening half and attempted their first and only shot on goal early in the period. Freshman midfielder
Alexander Castro Morales attempted the shot for Malone in the 20th minute of play. Lake Erie would outshoot the Pioneers 5-1 in the period but neither team was able to score.

The Storm would strike early in the second half for the first goal of the game. For Malone, junior midfielder
Nate Werthmuller would lead the offense for the Pioneers in the second half with three shots including two on goal, but unable to net either attempt.

Once Lake Erie scored their second of the game the Storm were in control. The Storm outshot the Pioneers 10-4 in the second half and rattled off four goals in the period. Junior goalkeeper
Sam Cipriano (0-5-0) managed to have two saves on the evening for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers will look to regroup after the loss as they prepare to host nationally-ranked Cedarville University at Pioneer Park on Saturday, September 27 at 4:00 P.M.
