Malone Adds Two to Recruiting Class for 2025-26

08/26/25

CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University men's basketball team has added two recruits to the 2025-26 class in Tyruse Boock and Kellen Leake.

Boock is a 6'3 transfer guard from Iona University. This past season, Tyruse was a member of Division I Iona, a team that appeared in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship game. Prior to that, he averaged 15.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game on 49.4% from the field and 36.6% from three at Mohawk Valley Community College in 2023-24. He was named Third Team All-Region that year. "Ty is an athletic wing that can play multiple positions and has a diverse skillset offensively," Head Coach Charlie Wallrapp said. "He spent last year under a terrific coach in Tobin Anderson, so he knows what it's like to be part of a winning program that has high expectations."

Leake comes to Malone as a transfer from the State University of New York (SUNY) Old Westbury. As a true freshman this past season, the 6'3 guard averaged 12.2 points per game and made 2.5 three's per game on 40.7% from distance. "Kellen is a player that stretches the floor with his shooting and competes on the defensive end," Coach Wallrapp stated. "He has a year of college experience under his belt, which will help him as he moves to our level. He is also a high character person that plays really hard."
