NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Malone University women's golf team dropped one spot in the standings at the Cav Classic on Tuesday. The Pioneers placed seventh with a total score of 691 (330-361). Gannon University won the event after they had the lowest team score of the day and finished at 622 (305-317).
Erin Strouse just missed a spot inside the top-ten with an 11th-place finish of 159 (79-80). She hit for birdie on the par-4 hole 8 as well as the par-5 15th hole. Strouse had a team-high nine pars on her scorecard.
Difficult course conditions made things tough for Malone deep in the lineup.
Addison Burris placed 30th at 170 (81-89) and
Maria Warner had a score of 177 (83-94).
Kaylyn Henson shot a 185 (87-98) and individual
Abbigail Jones gained one spot on the leaderboard at 184 (89-95).
The Pioneers will look ahead to the postseason when they compete at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championships on April 24-26. That event takes place at the Belterra Resort in Florence, Indiana.
