Malone on the Doorstep of Being Nationally-Ranked

11/25/25

LILBURN, Ga. - The Malone University women's basketball team continues to receive more votes in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Coaches Poll. The Pioneers now have the third-most votes of a team not in the top 25 after a 5-0 start to the season.

Most recently, Malone had to endure a battle on the road against Lake Superior State University. The Pioneers ultimately defeated the Lakers 69-63 behind 10 fourth quarter points by sophomore Abbey Price. Senior Erin Kaufman had a double-double in the win with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Last week, Malone was also able to defeat Seton Hill University on the road 81-72 and Roosevelt University at home, 83-57.

Senior Aila Miller has brought significant energy in limited time as she works her way back into the lineup from injury. She had seven points in the victory over Roosevelt on 4-of-6 from the field. Seniors Brinn Hunt and Anna Krupa have been major pieces off the bench as well, with Krupa going for 24 minutes in the team's most recent victory.

As a team, the Pioneers hold a scoring margin of 17.6. Their offense is averaging 80.4 points per game on 46.9% from the field and 43.6% from distance, the fourth-best three-point percentage in the nation currently.

Malone is on the road for their final game before Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) action begins. They face Davenport University on Wednesday, November 26 at 12:00 P.M.
