CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University men's and women's swimming & diving teams took to the pool on day one of the Malone Invitational on Thursday. The Pioneers placed two individuals in A-finals and had at least one participant in all six individual finals. The men's team is ninth and women seventh after the first of three action-packed days.

Ashtyn Rickel swam a time of 2:14.97 in the 200-yard individual medley A-final, good for seventh overall. The freshman also put up the seventh-fastest time in program history. Newcomer to the program freshman
Elizabeth Lane made the A-final in the 50-yard freestyle and swam a 24.91-second time to place seventh as well. She secured the fifth-fastest time for the team all-time.

In the men's 200 individual medley, sophomore
Lincoln Rickleff finished 14th at 2:06.60. The men's team also saw freshman
Leander Stuart (5:10.83) and sophomore
Seth McMillen (22.45 seconds) place 24th in their C-finals for the 500-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle. Freshman
Aleah Daugherty led Malone in the 500-yard freestyle C-finals with a 21st-place time of 5:37.39.

The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lane,
Ann-Katherine Burns,
Lauryn Ebersole and Rickel were phenomenal in the event finals to score a fifth-place finish. The team put up a time of 1:41.44, which is the seventh-best mark in program history. That same group of four also finished seventh in the 400-yard medley relay (4:12.37).

The men's 400-yard medley relay team of
Landon Sutter, McMillen,
Elisha Thompkins and
Dylan Yoder had a ninth-place finish. The team also competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay and were just outside the top-ten in 11th (1:29.03).
