INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Malone University men's soccer team has received the Sportsmanship Award from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) as a part of the league's postseason awards.
 
This is the first season for the new G-MAC Sportsmanship Award and the Pioneers, under the direction of Head Coach Bill Lawrence, are the inaugural honorees. Malone improved over the course of 2025 and ended the year strong with a pair of wins at Northwood University and at Walsh University to finish the season at 3-11-3 overall and 3-8-3 in conference play.
 
"This year, we made it a point that all talk must be positive and directed towards our teammates," Coach Lawrence mentioned. "That helped us to keep our focus on honoring God and building each other up instead of what we cannot control. Instead of occupying our thoughts on a referee's decision or a mistake we made, we focused on moving on to the next thing that we could control."
