CANTON, Ohio. - The #21 Malone University Pioneers (17-2, 11-0) faced off against the Lake Erie College Storm (3-14, 0-11) in another Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) battle Thursday night inside Osborne Hall. In the win, Malone retained first place in G-MAC standings and increased their win streak to 12-games. The Pioneers had a full team effort in their 82-39 victory over Lake Erie.

The first quarter set the tone for the whole game. The Pioneers exploded for a 29-7 run and held a 22-point lead at the end of the period. In the second, the lead only grew as they continued to get stops and hit shots. The lead grew as large as 52-17 two minutes before the end of the half. Malone took a commanding 52-21 lead at the break. They finished the first half shooting an astonishing 7-of-9 (77.8%) from deep and 19-30 (63.3%) from the field.

In the second half, the Pioneers continued to control every aspect of the game and inflated their lead to as large as 44 points at 73-29 before the end of the third quarter. The bench played much of the fourth quarter as Malone continued to hold on to an insurmountable lead. The Pioneers were able to rest many of their starters, showing the depth of their roster in the 82-39 final.

Brooklyn Troyer led the Pioneers in scoring with 19 points including three triples on the evening.
Kyli Horn was right behind her with 11 points including and a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. The Pioneers also got contributions from freshman forward
Katie Kaufman off the bench with a career-high eight points and 10 rebounds.

The Pioneers dominated rebounding with 40 boards compared to Lake Erie's 24. Malone also flexed their muscles inside by winning points in the paint 46-26, points off the bench 37-19, and fastbreak points 17-9.

The Pioneers remain undefeated in conference play at 11-0. Malone will hit the road for their next G-MAC game against the Tiffin University Dragons on Saturday, February 1 at 3:00 P.M. It is the second of the men's and women's doubleheader.
