COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Malone University women's golf team remained tenth on the leaderboard for their two-day tournament at Ohio Dominican University and the Champions of Women's Golf Classic. Tiffin University placed first as a team with a score of 599 (302-297) and the Pioneers at 650 (326-324).
Erin Strouse was able to pick up 24 positions on the leaderboard thanks to a day two 73 on the par-70 course. She finished 13th overall at 155 (82-73). She had two birdies on her scorecard, on the 7th and 16th holes. The mark is a career-best and is the second-lowest score in a single round behind only
Christina Williams.
Maria Warner tied for 19th overall at 156 (77-79). She began the back nine with a birdie on the 10th hole.
Savanna Porter,
Addison Burris and
Jayden Mitchell were also members of the scoring team. Porter shot a 169 (82-87), Burris a 170 (85-85) and Mitchell 178 (90-88). Competing as an individual,
Claire Hostetler fired an 87 in second round action.
The Eagle Invitational is next on the calendar for the Pioneers at Ashland University on September 23-24.
