Box Score Canton, OH-- The Malone University baseball team had their sights set on breaking a 10-game losing streak today, facing off against Rival Walsh at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium.
Unfortunately, the Cavalier bats were red hot, with Walsh securing an 11-5 victory over Malone, fueled by 16 hits.

HIGHLIGHTS
The Cavaliers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, launching a solo home run in the opening inning to take an early lead. Pioneer pitcher
Broc Pickens settled in, allowing only 2 earned runs, but Malone's defense faltered with a few errors.
Walsh added to their lead, scoring a total of four runs across the third and fourth innings to make it 5-0.
MU finally got the bats rolling in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring two runs.
Zach Flohr was hit by a pitch and later scored on a single by
Jordan Stevens.
Jake Aleman also scored on a double play by
Eric Baum.
In the top half of sixth inning, Walsh's bats came alive again, scoring a run, and they extended their momentum by adding two more runs in the following inning. However, the Pioneers persisted in their efforts to claw their way back into the game.
With two outs in the bottom of the seventh,
Anthony Ryan blasted a triple to right-center field, bringing
Allen Diaz home. Shortly after,
Zach Flohr's single to second base drove in Ryan, narrowing the lead to 9-4.
Devin Brown managed to hit a sacrifice fly in the next inning, reducing the lead to just four runs. With two outs and the bases loaded, Malone had a chance to make things real interesting and
Anthony Ryan was up at the plate. He was retired striking out and the Cavaliers ended the inning giving up minimal damage.
Walsh sealed the game by adding two more in the ninth inning, securing the 11-5 victory.

- Anthony Ryan finished 1-5 with a triple, an RBI, and run scored. He also thew out three runners trying to steal second.
- Jordan Stevens was hot at the plate batting 3-5 with an RBI.
